I’m both a chartered town planner and a chartered surveyor with - gulp - more than 20 years’ experience in housing development. I’ve advised both No 10 and DLUHC on planning reform (not that they listened too much, apparently).

Besides doing my day job at a lane promoter, I write a monthly column for Housing Today and am a Director of industry body the Land, Planning and Development Federation.

So I think I’ve got a useful perspective to offer - one that is based on experience, pragmatism and, wherever possible, evidence.
